Doudleby Castle
Doudleby castle was built by Mikuláš z Bubna a Litic and his lineage still owns the castle.
A small rural noble settlement was rebuilt between 1585 and 1590 in the place of the medieval stronghold by Mikuláš from Bubna and Litice.
A new renaissance chateau with a square ground plan and exuberant sgraffito decor is work of Italian artists admired by both, professionals and the public. The castle was originally used as a summer residence and later as a hunting lodge. The interesting fact is that the chateau has been owned by the Buben dynasty constantly up till now (except between the years 1948 – 1993).
Do not miss a nice stroll in the adjacent English park with rare tree species.
